When you arrive for your first visit to our facility, we ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment to fill out the initial paperwork.
Once you have completed the necessary paperwork, your first visit will begin. This visit will generally last between 45 to 60 minutes .
We suggest that you bring in the following items when you come for your first visit:
A copy of your complete medical history
Previous medical evaluations from other medical providers (Psychologists, Doctors, Surgeons, Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, etc…)
Recent MRI and X-rays (We ask that you bring actual films)
If you were referred to us by a physician or your family doctor, please bring in your referral slip
For payment, we ask that you bring your insurance card. In case there are additional charges, or co-pays, we ask that you also bring your credit card for payment; we also accept cash.
For your privacy, the evaluation will occur in a private, comfortable room. We begin the examination with a thorough physical assessment. During this time, we will discuss your medical history, including any issues that may have caused the problem you are seeking treatment for, as well as all of your work-related and lifestyle habits. You will need to provide us with a list - including names - of all the medications, nutritional supplements, and vitamins that you are currently taking.
We will then move to the next portion of the physical examination, which includes checking your vital signs, taking the posture and movement assessment, chiropractic and orthopedic testing, in addition to palpation of specific structures that are related to any issues you have complained about - this is done so we can determine what is causing your medical issue.
Once the examination is complete, one of our doctors will go over the results, and provide you with a working diagnosis. In order to determine what treatment would be appropriate, further diagnostic studies may be necessary, including x-rays.
If there are no complications or other necessary medical procedures, treatment is always rendered on the same day as your visit. The type of treatment that you receive will depend on the type of injury you have, or the diagnosis you have received. Our typical treatments consist of:
Your doctor may recommend other treatments, including nutritional supplements, custom orthotic shoes, back support, and exercising programs.
You could be sore for up to 24 hours after you have received treatment; this is completely normal. In this instance, you should place heat or ice in the areas that are sore – or the areas that are affected. Depending on your condition, a doctor may suggest a different treatment program. You should always remember that there is no instant cure with therapy. You will need to follow the doctor’s orders and remain active throughout your treatment. Being committed is also necessary. One or two sessions will not cure your condition.
Every appointment is scheduled at your preferred time. In order to ensure that you receive the maximum time allotted with your doctor, we will not schedule any other patients during your time slot. We ask that you always dress comfortably on your visits; if you are unable to change before coming in for your visit, you can bring a change of clothes to our office.
During each visit to our facility, the doctor will assess your condition and determine if you are suffering from any new conditions, determine if your current symptoms are getting worse, or if those symptoms have gone away. Doing this allows us to determine if your treatment is progressing. If you need further care that we do not provide, your doctor may recommend that you see a specialist for a consultation.
We accept all insurance companies. If you do not have insurance, cash or credit card options are available.
